A Life Devoted to Service, Simplicity, and Strength
Late Shri Kanhiya Lal Ji, born on 22nd October 1942, was the eldest son of Shri Pancham Lal Ji and Smt. Attar Devi Ji. He was the eldest among seven siblings, with two sons and five daughters in the family. Shri Kanhiya Lal Ji carried forward his father’s legacy with unmatched dedication, humility, and wisdom until he peacefully left for his heavenly abode on 19th May 2021.
To describe his greatness in words would be limiting—because “great” is too small a word for a man whose life was a rare blend of purpose, patience, and silent sacrifice. He was a man who lived by values, not by material possessions. His life illuminated qualities like humility, intelligence, determination, idealism, and tireless hard work.

He did not just build a business—he built better lives for the people around him. Whether it was employees, family, or the underprivileged, he believed in uplifting others selflessly, with kindness and grace. He was married to Smt. Kamla Devi Ji and blessed with two sons and one daughter. His eldest son was Shri Anil Kumar Ji, and his younger son is Shri Sunil Kumar Ji.
Shri Kanhiya Lal Ji was an absolute giver. Every ounce of success he earned was distributed with open hands. He worked not for personal gain, but to benefit those in need. His simplicity was his strength, and his silent service to others was his legacy. No words can truly define the depth of his struggle, the scale of his hard work, or the greatness of his soul.
No mortal could ever parallel the life he led. He was the man who built a life from rags to riches, only to smile and give it all away—willingly starting again from scratch, not for himself, but for the sake of others.

His greatness cannot be captured in mere words; he was more than an inspiration—he was a force of nature, an ideal. He created joy and stability not just for his own family but for countless people around him. His brilliance, foresight, and generosity left a lasting imprint on every life he touched. An absolute giver, he lived a life of selfless service.
His every action was aimed at helping others—distributing the fruits of his labor without hesitation. Even in his toughest battles, including his quiet struggle with cancer, he bore his pain silently, never letting it burden anyone else. But a mere sneeze or cough from a loved one would keep him up all night, often preparing homeopathic medicines with love and care. He was an artist, an entrepreneur, a singer, and, above all, the kindest soul one could ever know. His was an idealistic life—a shining example of how to live with purpose, dignity, and compassion.
His passing marks the end of an era. The world has grown darker without his light. But even in his absence, his legacy lives on—in every lesson he taught, in every soul he uplifted, and in every path he illuminated. A divine soul in the truest sense, he continues to inspire us every single day.
Through his values, his vision, and his boundless generosity, he became not just a leader but a role model for generations to come:
The men, the legend, the pillar of strength behind building the Panchhi Petha empire.
Mr. Kanhiya Lal Ji was the one to do branding and marketing for Panchhi Petha.

He elevated his father's legacy to new heights by preserving the traditional essence of Petha and redefining it. In the 1960s, he further enhanced the brand by introducing smaller pieces and well-packaged portions, making it more accessible to customers. The phrase “Panchhi ki shop se Petha le aao” soon became synonymous with quality and taste, making Panchhi Petha a household name.
He introduced Angoori Petha, the first variation of the original Petha. Named after its shape, the piece of petha, when cut into long pieces, resembles the shape of a grape (angoor). Instead of drying the pieces of cooled petha, they are packed alongside the sugar syrup.
This keeps the softness and juiciness of the petha to an extent. He introduced another variety of petha — Kesar Petha. The origin of Kesar Elaichi Petha dates back to the 1960s, when the late Shri Kanhiya Lal Ji was inspired by a wholesale trader from Punjab to experiment with his own secret recipe. The resulting petha was an instant hit, selling out quickly at his retail shop.
This innovation led to the creation of the legendary Panchhi Kesar Elaichi Petha, a treat known for its mesmerizing saffron-cardamom flavor and remarkable health benefits. The saffron and cardamom essence used in this are the best in the world.
He changed the face of retail in the petha industry. He started branding and marketing by installing billboards at various prime locations in Agra. A gifted entrepreneur, Shri Kanhiya Lal Ji, son of Shri Pancham Lal Ji, founder of Panchhi Petha, sculpted the Panchhi Petha brand into what it is today, working tirelessly from when he was a young boy of 11 years old until his last breath.
He was a shy, introverted, and self-respecting man. He was an exceptional artist, a talented musician and singer, and loved playing the flute. No mortal can work as hard as he did to take this family business to the height where it stands today.
- In 1967, PANCHHI PETHA STORE—Hariparwat Crossing, M.G. Road, Agra 282002
- In 1985, PANCHHI PETHA DALMOTH—Opp. Heera Talkies, Bye Pass Road, Agra, 282003
- In 1996, PANCHHI PETHA BHANDAR - Opp. Synergy Hospital NH-2 Sikandra Road, Agra, 282007.
His intelligence and foresight helped shape the Panchhi Petha legacy into what it is today. He stood at the core of every key transformation the brand underwent—from product innovations to brand identity.
But he never sought the limelight. A man of few words, he let his actions speak—and they spoke volumes. In his later years, he suffered from colon cancer, and he peacefully left for his heavenly abode on 19th May 2021
